Guitarist Trevor Menear uses his Frank Brothers guitar with Dawes as they continue their tour with more dates in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Dawes' latest album, produced by Blake Mills, is called We're All Gonna Die.

Dawes the Band and the Brothers

Originating from Los Angeles, California, Dawes has made a big name for themselves through five studio albums, two live albums, appearances on late night shows like Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel,  and countless live concerts. Dawes' folk-rock sound and anthemic chorus' make for an exciting live experience.

As brothers, it's always cool to see examples of other brothers who work together. Dawes is composed of brothers Talyor and Griffin Goldsmith along with Wylie Gelber and Lee Pardini. Trevor Menear joins the band on guitar. Whether it's the magic of the brotherly connection or not, Dawes' live and album work has been exceptional.

Tour Dates

If you haven't yet seen Dawes live, we highly recommend it.  Upcoming tour dates are in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Guitarist Trevor Menear

We recently saw Dawes in Toronto at the Opera House, a great venue near the Frank Brothers shop. We were blown away by the whole band, especially guitarist Trevor Menear. It wasn't long before Trevor was on tour with his own Frank Brothers Signature Model.

Trevor has since taken his Frank Brothers guitar across North America and to some of the most famous stages around, like Nashville's Ryman Auditorium and some of the coolest music festivals like San Fransisco's Outside Lands and Montreal's Osheaga.

We also got a chance to hang out with Trevor during his most recent tour date in Toronto. Dawes performed with John Mayer at the Budweiser Stage (formerly the Molson Amphitheater).

Before the show, Nick and Tim Frank met up with Trevor at a local Toronto recording studio, Baldwin Street Sound, owned and run by producer and musician Aaron Goldstein. As our customers will tell you, we are always down to get into the weeds about what makes a great guitar - just another part of the Frank Brothers custom-built experience. Trevor wanted to meet up to try another one of our guitars, this one with a B5 Bigsby.

Trevor's Frank Brothers Guitar

Trevors guitar is a deluxe Signature Model made with chambered quarter-sawn Genuine Mahogany body core and neck, Pacific Coast Curly Maple top and back, quarter-sawn Macassar Ebony fingerboard and headstock overlay.

The pickups are a matched set of Lollar El Rayo Humbuckers. This guitar is finished with a classic dark amber burst and black pick-guard and pickup surrounds.
