Jeff Tweedy’s Sonar
The Loft is a legendary Chicago recording studio and headquarters for the band Wilco. They’re instagram features a treasure trove of guitars, studio gear, amplifiers, and other unique objects from the studio.
The Loft recently featured Jeff Tweedy’s Sonar and had some very nice things to say! Check out the post along with high-res photos of Jeff’s guitar and a full list of his Sonar’s original specs below.
“It's always reassuring to find and know about modern guitar makers that have a foot firmly in the past and keep traditions alive but who also bring their own thing to the equation to make new and unique instruments of very high quality. We've talked about others we love and adding to this list is the Frank Brothers (real brothers, by the way) Guitar Company up in Toronto. This is their Sonar model in handsome vintage amber finish. Damn, what a sexy guitar. It's sweet and solid and sounds and plays like it was made by guitar players. Jeff has been trying out a few different pickup configurations with this one (white Gemini Dynacasters, I think). Thanks Nick, Jon, and Tim!” - The Loft, Chicago
